ROCCAT Fuses PC Gaming With Smartphone Technology

By

ROCCAT, a German gaming peripherals manufacturer, has a new groundbreaking technology called ROCCAT “Power-Grid”. The new tech will allow gamers to control their computer and games with their smartphones. The free-to-download Power-Grid will let PC gamers connect, monitor and control their games and PC in real time without interrupting the action. The app comes with four different control displays or grids, three of these grids are preloaded with a wide range of gaming tools, with the fourth grid being fully customizable. Grid one is called “Incoming Center”, it handles outside voice and text communication from Skype, Facebook, TeamSpeak and Twitter with just a quick glance at the smartphone. Grid two, known as “Stats Control”, lets users monitor the computer’s vital data such as CPU status, HDD space, network traffic etc. The final preconfigured grid, called “Sound Control”, allows gamers to fine tune their gaming audio by offering the ability to change audio settings in Skype, with in-game music, or media players together or independently for full control. On top of the smartphone, app users will need to download ROCCAT “Power-Grid Launcher” from http://www.roccat.org, this will combine with the smartphone app to offer control and includes a powerful editor for custom control icons and macro buttons. Initial support will be limited to Apple iPhones using the latest iOS and iPod touch, Android support will follow later this year.

ROCCAT Power-Grid

Some gaming companies claim PC gaming is sick and needs help, says Ren Korte, ROCCAT Founder and CEO. We at ROCCAT have never thought that. We know PC gaming is alive and well. It just needs to keep evolving. Power-Grid represents that natural evolution. Why? Because it makes possible the dream of millions of gamers: to stay fully absorbed in the game no matter what happens in the real world. It works with every PC, makes expensive touch-display gaming devices obsolete, and is completely free to get started. Is PC gaming sick? Hardly. Is it dead? Of course not. Its evolving and getting a hell of a lot better.
