Rick Bergman Rejoins AMD as Executive VP, Computing and Graphics Business Group

AMD announced today that Sandeep Chennakeshu will be leaving AMD at the end of August and will of course be relinquishing his position as head of AMDs Computing and Graphics Business Group. His replacement will be no other than Rick Bergman!

Rick Bergman will be rejoining AMD to run what the company calls its Computing and Graphics (CG) business segment. The CG segment is AMDs largest group and includes its PC, gaming, and semi-custom businesses. This means he will be overseeing both Ryzen and Radeon products and platforms that the readers of this site follow so passionately. Bergman comes back to AMD after an 8-year stint as CEO and President of Synaptics.

2019 continues to be an exciting year for AMD as we deliver our new 7nm product portfolio, said Dr. Lisa Su, AMD president and CEO. I am excited to welcome Rick to our leadership team, at this important time, as we focus on continued growth and market share gains. We thank Sandeep for his contributions at AMD and wish him every success in his future endeavors.
