This past Tuesday we did an article on the Diamond Viper Radeon HD 3870 1GB video card and it turns out some of the details in that article were incorrect. When the Diamond Multimedia launched the first 1GB ATI Radeon HD 3870 graphics card they had the memory interface incorrectly labeled as 512-bit. Legit Reviews contacted the Diamond Multimedia marketing department and they confirmed it was really just 256-bit.
The AMD 780G chipset is all the rage right now for micro-ATX socket AM2+ motherboards. Today, we take a look at the ASUS M3A78-EMH HDMI motherboard. It features DX10 compliant integrated ATI RV610-based graphics, which supports dual VGA outputs including DVI/HDMI interfaces with HDCP. It also incorporates AMD’s UVD with hardware acceleration of H.264, VC1 and Mpeg2 used in HD DVD and BluRay disks. Is this board the right choice for your next HTPC or PC?

Last week Diamond Multimedia launched one of the first 1 gigabyte, overclocked versions of the ATI Radeon HD 3870 graphics card. Diamond claims that the performance matches against Nvidia’s new GeForce 9xxx series, as well against
the Radeon HD 3870 X2. We fire up the Dell 30″ to test out this claim at 2560×1600 to see just how the larger frame buffer does on a number of games. We then overclock the card and give you our thoughts!
The Western Digital 300GB VelociRaptor is the newest member of WD’s 10,000 RPM SATA hard drive series for enthusiasts and gamers. The VelociRaptor still has the same DNA as the Raptor series, but it offers a whole new level of performance. WD also has something new called the IcePAK that helps keep the drive temperatures down and still allow this 2.5″ HDA drive to mount in a standard case.
The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 processor is the entry level 45nm quad-core processor from Intel, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t perform well! This 45nm quad-core ‘Yorkfield’ processor is operates at 2.50 GHz with a 1333MHz FSB and 6MB L2 cache. The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 processor should be a decent overclocker as it has a 7.5 multiplier. Just how high can you get the FSB is the question as the multiplier is a bit low to reach much higher than 4GHz.
Armed with an nForce 780i SLI motherboard and a set of GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB video cards in 3-way SLI, we push the limits of graphics technology on our 30″ Dell monitor at a resolution of 2560×1600. A couple of months ago we showed you 3-way SLI with a set of GeForce 8800 GTX graphics cards, but today that is old news. Sit back and see what 3-way SLI looks like with a set of GeForce 9800 GTX graphics cards!

The ECS A780GM-A ‘Black Series’ motherboard is the first motherboard by the designers at ECS that uses the recently released AMD 780G and SB700 chipsets. Unlike the micro-ATX boards that we have looked at in the past this is a full size ATX board. Will the ECS A780GM-A exceed our expectations or end up falling short? Read on to find out how this Black Series board does!
The Thermaltake DuOrb CPU cooler is by far one of the most interesting looking CPU coolers on the market today. With a true Dual-Flow design it uses the system air flow to cool down surrounding temperatures and helps dissipate the heat of CPU, RAM, VRM, North Bridge, and the back of VGA card. The Thermaltake DuOrb CPU cooler gets testing on an Intel Core 2 Quad today, so read on to see if this new offering from Thermaltake can live up to its heritage.
The Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 processor isn’t even out yet, but it is by far one of the most talked about processors in 2008 and with a rumored price of $133 it is no wonder as to why. This 45nm dual-core ‘Wolfdale’ processor is operates at 2.53 GHz with a 1066MHz FSB and 3MB L2 cache. The Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 should be a great overclocker as it has a 9.5 multiplier. Read on to see how it does and if it can overclock!
