This weekend, 100 players assembled at Seattles Magnuson Park, for a different kind of Dota 2 tournament. Unlike the enormous prize purse of Seattles other Dota 2 competition The International 4 Red Bull LAN Seattle was all about friendly competition.

Adding a little intrigue to the mix, a healthy handful of pro players joined in on the fun, giving amateur players the experience of competing alongside a pro that makes their living in eSports. Big names players like Wong ChuaN Hock Chuan, Brian FLUFFNSTUFF Lee, and Red Bulls own, Jimmy DeMoN Ho teamed up with Dota 2 fans for this one day tournament in the park.

With teams randomly reassigned after each heat, against all odds, at the end of the day, amateur player Aaron “Seventhings” Sullivan (yes, his name is a reference to the Miley Cyrus song) who remained undefeated throughout the day was ultimately the last man standing.

“This is my first LAN event that I’ve actually participated in,” Sullivan stated. “I’ve just viewed LAN events. First time playing one. I was excited for it, but I was nervous all day.

As winner of Red Bull LAN Seattle, Seventhings will go down as one of the first of his kind in this region, and the first person to win a Dota 2 event handled by Red Bull.

While most participants were rewarded with Steam wallet cards, Sullivan wins an all-expenses paid to any Red Bull eSports North America of his choosing in 2015.
