Razer Teases Smartphone as Specs Leak
This week the gaming peripheral maker Razer began to tease what appears to be a new smartphone for mobile gamers to be excited about. The tease lists a date of November 1 for the unveil and only shows a man holding a dark and mysterious smartphone in his hands. Ahead of that official unveil next month, some specifications turned up on GFXBench for a Razer Phone.
If the listing is correct, the phone sounds pretty cool. The benchmark listing claims that the device has a 5.7-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution and runs a Snapdragon 835 processor. It has a single 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Internal storage is listed as 64GB reports The Verge.
The big thing that this Razer smartphone listing claims to offer that you don’t see much of in the smartphone market right now is 8GB of RAM. Normally RAM in flagship Android devices is limited to 4GB or 6GB at most. The smartphone is expected to be positioned for gamers.
The OS is tipped as a custom version of Android based on Nougat. That is an old version of Android and many will wonder why Razr didn’t base the device on the latest version of the OS. We will have to wait a few weeks to see if the smartphone matches these leaked specs.
