pureSilicon Sets New Industry Benchmarks With Fastest, Highest-Capacity 2.5 SATA SSDs

Enterprise types, take note. pureSilicon is busting out two new SSDs that promise reliability and speed for performance-driven datacenter, defense, and aerospace applications. Or just about any other enterprise application you can dream up for that matter. The Nitro N2 drives are claimed to be “the most advanced storage devices available today” with 6Gbps over a SATA interface, NCQ, 32-bit DDR3 data buffer, and a smokin’ proprietary controller delivering two times the performance “over competing technologies at small block sizes and line-rate performance during sequential operations”. The Renegade R4 is all that and more with SiPher self-encryption and enhanced security features. It allows for customer-defined and industry-specific secure erase algorithms which is the first time we’ve heard of such a feature. Pricing is set for $1,995 and $1,155 respectively and should ship in late Q1 2012.
