Prolimatech Launches Black Series Genesis CPU Cooler

By

Prolimatech has released the successor to the Megahalems, the Black Series Genesis. With this new cooler, one radiator is vertical and the other horizontal to allow cooling of the motherboard. It can take up to three 120mm or 140mm fans, but comes without fans (for user choice) and includes mounting materials for two fans. This cooler has an interesting enthusiast feature, which allows the CPU contact pressure to be increased past Intel’s limit by using extra screws supplied. Presumably, if you don’t break your CPU or motherboard with such a lot of pressure, the cooling performance increases measurably. It will be interesting to see how well this feature works in the reviews.

The Prolimatech Black Genesis also features broad compatibility as it ships with an AMD mounting kit intended for all modern sockets like AM2, AM2+ and AM3. Intel users will also be able to mount the cooler with the included kit for Socket 775, 1155, 1156, 1366 and 2011. To enable the most efficient transfer of heat between the CPU and Black Genesis cooler, Prolimatech supplies their high-performance PK-1 thermal paste, while a sturdy backplate guarantees a stable hold, taking the strain off the mainboard and socket.

The cooler is available for preorder exclusively from Caseking in Europe for around 60 Euros and Overclockers UK in the UK for 59.90. Note that Caseking now own Overclockers UK.
