Pre-Order The AMD RYZEN Threadripper 2990WX 32-Core / 64 Thread CPU For $1799

The AMD RYZEN Threadripper 2990WX 32-core, 64-thread processor is available to pre-order at Newegg for $1799.99 shipped. It looks like the 2990X will be actually released on August 13th, 2018. According to the pre-order listing on Newegg this will be the flagship 2nd Generation Threadripper and will have a 3.0 GHz base clock and a 4.2 GHz precision boost clock. The TDP is said to be 250 Watts and it will not come with a CPU Cooler. All of the ‘leaked’ images for the AMD RYZEN Threadripper 2990WX appear to have been correct and you can take a look at the images in the Newegg listing below. We ‘WX’ suffix means that the processors have been designed that as they are aimed at “creators and innovators” or basically workstation folks. Meanwhile ‘X’ suffixed processors are for gamers and your normal enthusiast. Gamers won’t bee needing 32-cores or wanting to be $1799 for a CPU!
