PoweColor LCS HD 6990 Spotted – Liquid Cooled AMD Radeon HD 6990

By

Now this is what I call a ‘real’ AMD Radeon HD 6990 video card! The marketing team over at PowerColor posted up some pictures of the Liquid Cooling Solution (LCS) HD6990 this afternoon and this video card looks sweet! PowerColor didn’t mention pricing, but the PowerColor AX6970 is $339.99 shipped and the water cooled version called the LCS AX6970 is $519.99. That means the water cooled card costs $180 more than the base card. If we apply the same math to the PowerColor AX6990 that is $709.99 shipped, so we can assume this card will be roughly $889.99 and that is on the low side. The water block will be more complex on the Radeon HD 6990 with the dual GPU’s, so the price might be even higher!

The PowerColor Liquid Cooling Solution (LCS) HD6990 4GB GDDR5 is once again working with renowned cooling manufacturer EKwaterblocks to bring the ultimate cooling solution to the HD6990. The PowerColor LCS HD6990 has a full water block mounted on the card, fully covering the key components which can be dissipate the heat from the copper base design. The offering aims to provide extraordinary thermal performance to enhance overclocking ability while allowing optimum system stability.
