PoV and TGT Announce POV/TGT GeForce GT 640 Ultra Charged

Point of View partnered with graphics card tuning specialists TGT has announced the POV/TGT GeForce GT 640 Ultra Charged graphics card. This single slot card’s claim to fame is that it runs at a significant overclock to the standard card with the GPU at 1006MHz, up from 901MHz and the memory at 2020MHz, up from 1782MHz.

It’s curious to see a manufacturer soup-up a low end card like this, since the standard GT 640 doesn’t benchmark well in its performance class in 3D games and this overclocked variant will only be around 10% better, at most. The reference version isn’t especially quiet either, so it’s quite possible that this one will make even more noise. For anyone that’s after a low performance card with go-faster stripes, it’s available immediately in Europe for around 115 Euro inc VAT.
