Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield Trailer Shows off Mysterious Symbols

The next Pokemon games that are coming to the Switch will be Pokemon Sword and Shield, that is two versions of the same game as Nintendo typically does. The official trailer for the games gives a glimpse at what you can expect from the game.

There are three different scenes in the trailer where there are stones with symbols carved into them. Some are wondering if they are puzzles as some similar symbols were in past Pokemon games. The region where the game is set is called Galar and appears to be inspired by England reports Gamespot.

The symbols on rocks and in the landscape could just be decoration, but with similar markings as puzzles in past games, fans are right to wonder. Pokemon games are some of the biggest draws for the Switch and should push new hardware sales when they land.

The launch date is a mystery, all Nintendo has said is late 2019. Odds are it will land in time for holiday shopping this year. Check out the trailer above.
