Pokmon Go to Get Alolan Forms of Gen 1 Creatures

Pokmon Go fans have some new creatures they can start capturing soon. An announcement from Niantic, the developer of the game, confirmed that Alolan forms of classic Gen 1 Pokmon are coming for the game. The new creatures will start turning up just in time for summer.

“Whether your forecast calls for rain or shine, we’re celebrating all around the world by introducing some special Pokmon from the tropical Alola region to Pokmon Go,” Niantic said on the official Pokmon Go website. “Get ready for some of the Pokmon originally discovered in the Kanto region to appear in their Alolan forms!”

The exact launch date for the new Pokmon to turn up isn’t announced, but the image attached here does give the silhouettes of the Pokmon for you to gander at. All we know for a launch date at this point is “in the coming weeks.”

The Alolan forms of the Pokmon creatures originally debuted in Pokmon Sun and Moon, the seventh-gen installments in the franchise. The creatures are region specific versions of some Kanto Pokmon with a different appearance and elemental type reports GameSpot.
