PlayStation Network Now Up for Some Users

Sony has slowly begun to make their PlayStation Network accessible to their minions of users across the globe. Sony began reopening the PSN and Sony Online Entertainment services on Saturday across the Americas, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. It will take the Sony engineers a bit longer to fully restore service to Japan and the rest of Asia. Sony, which said it was taken off guard by what it called highly sophisticated criminal attacks, vowed to strengthen its network security, in part by adding firewalls and additional encryption. Sony moved to appease its core gamer audience by offering a month of free access to premium services, among other “welcome back” gifts.
