Plantronics .Audio 476 DSP Foldable Headset Review
Plantronics .Audio 476 DSP Testing and Final Thoughts
Testing Observations
Since the Plantronics .Audio 476 DSP headset is geared towards gaming and VoIP calls, we had to test both aspects. The first observation I want to continue to iterate is the comfort of the headset even after an hour of use. I can easily see this headset being comfortable no matter how long I would need to use it since I completely forgot it was even on my head while I was using it.
For gaming, I played Left 4 Dead for 30 minutes and had absolutely no fatigue on my ears or head. The in-line controls were very convenient for adjusting the volume even in the middle of game-play. The quality of the .Audio 476 DSP was great for this setting, especially in order to hear the voice commands from other teammates.
We also used the Plantronics .Audio 476 DSP for several VoIP calls and found the sound quality great to clearly hear those on the other end of the call. Using Google Voice and a free Gizmo5 account, we made several VoIP calls and were impressed by the call quality. When there was background noise, there was a light white noise sound that came through, but the call was crystal clear in a quiet setting. The white noise sound was definitely nothing that interfered with the ability to understand anyone, it was just a little observation made when critically listening at the call quality.
Final Thoughts
The Plantronics .Audio 476 DSP headset was very comfortable to use. The tension the headset puts on your head is just the perfect amount for keeping the headset snug on your head and with the help of the foam padded speaker cushions, does not add the fatigue other headsets could.
The Plantronics .Audio 476 DSP headset folds in thirds to offer as much of a compact travelling profile as possible. While it may not be as compact as other earbud headsets, it is certainly more comfortable for those who have discomfort while wearing earbuds for multiple hours at a time.
The Plantronics .Audio 476 DSP is available through Plantronics’ website and Amazon for $54.95. However, when searching online, Google found the .Audio 476 DSP for as low as $27.83! While we were discouraged that this headset was priced at $54.95 from Plantronics’ website, but for around $30, this headset is a pretty good deal given that it features a noise canceling microphone and decent speakers when it comes to vocal playback.
Legit Bottom Line: The Plantronics .Audio 476 DSP foldable headset offers a portable option for a comfortable headset. Whether you game, dictate or are on the phone for multiple hours throughout the day, the .Audio 476 offers a high quality headset for users while on the go.
