Photoshopped? Nope, It’s Drugs!

What may look like Hollywood special-effects makeup or a good Photoshop fake is nothing but the actual physical decline of people whom drugs have taken a terrible toll. By advertising images reminiscent of a Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde transformation in the movies, law enforcement intends to target adolescent vanity in order to curb their appetite for drugs. Gone is the famous egg and frying pan campaign which was infinitely less disturbing than this. Follow the link for the rest of the images.

With disturbing before and after photos of drug users faces, a new anti-drug campaign may succeed where others have failed, grabbing teens attentions by appealing to their vanity. The pairs of mug shots, which graphically display the damage drugs can do to the face, were collected by the sheriffs office in Multnomah County, Ore. Faces that were normal even attractive in initial photos, shot when addicts were first arrested, metamorphose over years, and sometimes just months, into gaunt, pitted, even toothless wrecks.
