Perfectionism Delays BioShock Infinite to 2013

By

For those eagerly waiting for the release of BioShock Infinite, the delays of the game’s release from this year to February 26 next year will be frustrating. However, it looks like it will be worth the wait, since the delay is to perfect it as much as possible before release in order to give the gamer an awesome experience.

In a message on the company’s blog, creative director and co-founder of Irrational Games, Ken Levine, explained that there are so many things that they want to optimise even further, including such things as the Big Daddies characters, fine details like the animation of a golf swing and the Art Deco artwork. So, perfectionists at heart, the game better be damned good when it’s released so much later than planned.

I wont kid you: BioShock Infinite is a very big game, and were doing things that no one has ever done in a first-person shooter. We had a similar experience with the original BioShock, which was delayed several months as our original ship date drew near. Why? Because the Big Daddies werent the Big Daddies youve since come to know and love. Because Andrew Ryans golf club didnt have exactly the right swing. Because Rapture needed one more coat of grimy Art Deco.
