Patriot Zephyr 128GB JMicron Solid-State Drive Review
HD Tach v3.0.4.0 & CrystalDiskMark v3.0
HD TACH 3.0.4.0
HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write
storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash
devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other
low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as
possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device as
possible.
Benchmark Results: The Zephyr performs admirably here, posting scores consistent with expectations and a nice burst speed mark. The graph lines are fairly steady without too many valleys, and the dips that do appear aren’t too extreme.
CrystalDiskMark 3.0 x64 Beta
CrystalDiskMark is a small benchmark utility for drives and enables rapid measurement of sequential and random read/write speeds. This newest version is still in beta.
Benchmark Results: Typical of what we have seen of the JMicron controllers, the 512k marks are good but we see low 4k scores as compared to drives with other controllers.
On to the last set of benchmarks we go.
