The kit that Patriot sent was was of production modules, but they sent the kit with black stickers as red stickers were out of stock at the time. The final product does look a bit different with a red colored sticker. In fact, they will look like this:

As you can see, there is some difference. Certainly, it is all cosmetic though, as stickers don’t change system performance!

These are rather good looking sticks of DDR3 memory! The Viper logo has a nice flair to it, and it unique. I am a fan of black, so the overall color scheme fits my taste as well. In fact, I am inclined to like it better then the actual production design.

The heatsink on DDR modules is debated by some as to really helping or not. I believe that it can help, but with the 1.65v for these sticks, you really do not need to worry about it too much. Here you can see a close-up of the “teeth” of the heat spreader.

The black PCB looks great (as I already mentioned). I had this pic, so I figured why not put it in too!
Overall, the design is solid AND good looking.
