OCZ Technology announced this afternoon that they have released an exciting refresh of their first generation Vertex and Colossus SSD Series. Called the Vertex Plus and Colossus Plus, the new SATA II solutions continue to implement the proven Indilinx technology while delivering significantly improved performance at their distinctively affordable price points. It is our understanding that OCZ has improved the firmware and is using newer MLC NAND Flash on these ‘Plus’ branded SSDs. When the OCZ Vertex SSD first came out we never knew it would last this long, but it was a drive that was ahead of its time when it was released. In combination with the latest flash memory, the Vertex Plus and Colossus Plus are based on optimized firmware that boosts performance to new, competitive levels.
