Obsidian Entertainment Says No Loot Boxes or Microtransactions in Coming Game
Obsidian Entertainment is a game developer with a handful of titles to its name. The most well known is Fallout: New Vegas. The developer is working on a new RPG video game and it wants gamers to know that while it really isnt ready to talk about the game itself, it is ready to talk microtransactions. There will be none says Obsidian.
Microtransactions are some of the most annoying things that gamers face when it comes to the games they love. Often these microtransactions are a payment for a loot box where the gamer hopes they get something cool for their character to use. The big issue with loot boxes is that some countries now consider blind loot boxes gambling.
Obsidian says that not only will there be no microtransactions in its coming game, there will also be no loot boxes. The new game is in development now and exactly when it will launch is unknown.
Obsidian will publish the game with Private Division and says that the publisher has put no pressure on it to include microtransactions in the game. All Obsidian says about the game itself is that it will hold off until the time is right to talk about it.
