NZXT Lexa S Mid Tower PC Case Review

External Impressions

The outside of the case is where first impressions are made. Whether it is your first custom build or your latest, the NZXT Lexa S offers an impression that will last. I myself am not a fan of overly flashy cases, but I do like cases with a nice clean look such as the NZXT Lexa S.

Not being overly flashy I feel the NZXT Lexa S is a sharp looking case. Taking a look at the side panel of the case below we see the 120mm blue led fan. The fan is placed right above the graphics card(s) to provide some cool air to it (them). I must admit that I dig the smoked panel. It gives a true blacked out feel when coupled with the finished interior.

The front panel connections provide you with 2 USB, audio (Mic, and speakers), and E-SATA. I like the fact that the NZXT Lexa S has the front panel connections on the side. It allows you to keep the front door closed, keeping that clean look.

One thing that I would have liked to have seen with the front panel connectors is firewire. Though not as popular as USB is, it does have its uses. It doesn’t kill the deal with this case but I would have liked to have seen it.

Opening the door also gives you access to the power and reset switches, as well as the knobs for fan control. Each of these knobs controls two fans.

Here you can see that the power supply is mounted on the bottom of the case. Other items to note on the back are the mesh expansion slot covers and the pre-drilled holes for water lines. The grommets for the water lines will accept 1/2 inch outside diameter tubing.
