NVIDIA GTX 650 Pictured, Launches September 13 Along With GTX 660
NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 660 & GTX 650 graphics cards are due for launch on September 13. This information comes courtesy of NVIDIA in some German language marketing slides. Additionally, the GTX 650 has had its picture taken, as can be seen below.
The GTX 660 (non-Ti) features the GK106 Kepler GPU. This has 960 CUDA Cores along with a 192-bit data bus connected to 2GB GDDR5. The GPU is clocked at 980-1033MHz with the memory at 6008MHz effective. Note that the memory clock is the same as that of the GTX 680. Power is supplied through a single 6-pin PCI-E connector and the TDP is 140W. Launch price is $229.
The GTX 650 is a go-faster version of the GT 640 card, so both feature the GK107 GPU with 384 CUDA Cores. However, the GTX 650 clocks those cores at a faster 1058MHz while the memory is run at 5000MHz effective. The card has a TDP of 75W which is right on the edge of what the motherboard PCI-E slot can supply, hence it also has a 6-pin PCI-E connector to ease this, which should help with overclocking too. Launch price is $149.
