NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan Black Announced!

By

In addition to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 TI with the new NVIDIA Maxwell architecture that is being launched today, NVIDIA is also making an announcement for the hardcore gamers out there. Late last year NVIDIA launched the GeForce GTX 780Ti which featured the fully unlocked GK110 GPU making it the fastest NVIDIA card on the block. This took the crown away from the GTX Titan, today the Titan is getting updated with the fully unlocked GK110 GPU! Not only is the GPU fully unlocked now, we are also seeing a boost to the core clock and the boost clock speeds from the original Titan.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan Black

The original NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan was undoubtedly a beast, and now that beast is taking off the gloves! NVIDIA is launching the Titan Black with a fully unlocked Keplar GK110 core. The previous Titan featured 14 Streaming Multiprocessors and 2688 Stream Processors, the Titan Black features 15 Streaming Multiprocessors and 2880 Stream Processors. If you notice below that is the same specs as the GTX 780Ti that hit the market in q4 2013. However, unlike the GTX 780 and the GTX 780Ti the Titan Black features 6GB of GDDR5 memory. In addition to the increase in memory over the 780Ti and 780, the Titan Black is also getting the same memory clock as the 780Ti, 992MHz faster than the original Titan!

The GeForce GTX Titan Black is also getting a 6.2% frequency boost to the Core Clock. The Original Titan would run at 837MHz and the Titan Black has a core clock of 889MHz. The Boost clock is higher as well, jumping from 876MHz to 980MHz, a gain of 11.9%! The NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan Black is holding the same price point as the original Titan did at $999.
