NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M & 570M GPUs Bring More Performance to Notebooks

By

Gaming notebooks around the world now have the ability to have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M GPU stuffed inside! The GeForce GTX 580M has 384 CUDA cores and has a processor clock speed of 1240MHz! This discrete card also uses GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit bus that runs at 1500MHz. NVIDIA also introduced the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M GPU, which has 336 CUDA cores running at 1150MHz and GDDR5 memory on a 192-bit bus running at 1500MHz.

With specifications like this it doesn’t come to a shock that Alienware has made this GPU an option in their popular M18x and M17x notebooks along with NVIDIA Optimus technology. NVIDIA also introduced the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M GPU, which has 336 CUDA cores running at 1150MHz and GDDR5 memory on a 192-bit bus running at 1500MHz.

When it comes to GPU performance on the Futuremark 3DMark Vantage with the Performance Preset you can see that the GTX 570M scores nearly 13,000 3DMarks and the GeForce GTX 580M scored over 16,000 3DMarks. These video cards clearly perform much better than the GTX 560M and you can get them in SLI on select notebooks.

“Gamers aspire to experience games at their highest settings,” says Eddy Goyanes, product marketing manager for Alienware. “Alienware activates the technology designed to enable those aspirations. With the launch of the GeForce GTX 580M on the Alienware M17x, and a dual card option on the M18x, that synergy continues — Alienware delivers the ultimate gaming experience.”
