NVIDIA has recently posted a Youtube video that details some of the features that they are including in an update that they are referring to as the GeForce Experience Early Access Share Beta. Users with GeForce Experience Beta will be able to directly record, edit and upload in-game video to Youtube using a new share overlay. In addition to offering GPU accelerated H.264 encoding for Twitch broadcasting, with full camera and mic support, you will now be able to invite a buddy to help you out in certain two player games by using a feature NVIDIA is calling GameStream Co-Op. Interestingly, the Guest PC doesn’t have any specific GPU requirement, so it appears you’ll be able to use this feature with any GPU, provided the system meets the other minimum requirements.

We have listed the requirements for the GameStream Co-Op feature, which NVidia has published on the website for the Geforce Experience Early Access Share Beta, below:

  • Host PC
    • GPU: GeForce GTX 650 or higher graphics card (Desktop only, notebook support coming soon)
    • GPU driver: 355.60 or higher
    • CPU: Intel i3-2100 3.1GHz
    • System Memory: 4 GB or higher
    • OS: Windows 7, 8, or 10
    • Router
      • Minimum: 802.11 a/g router
      • Recommended: 8.02.11n 5Ghz router or Ethernet
    • Recommended Network Bandwidth: 7 Mbps upstream
    • Games: DirectX 9 or higher games running in fullscreen exclusive mode**
  • Guest PC:
    • GPU: No minimum requirement
    • CPU: Intel i3-2100 3.1GHz or higher
    • System Memory: 4 GB or higher
    • Software: Chrome version 44
    • OS: Windows 7, 8, or 10
    • Router
      • Minimum: 802.11 a/g router
      • Recommended: 8.02.11n 5Ghz router or Ethernet
    • Recommended Network Bandwidth: 7 Mbps downstream

It is good to see NVidia adding features to their products that, while far from groundbreaking, will be taken advantage of by many PC gamers. NVidia has been a leader when it comes to pushing game streaming as a viable medium with their Shield product line, along with their GRID streaming service, which is currently free until September. The GameStream Co-Op feature doesn’t require a high-end PC, either, though performance is certainly going to be limited on lower end systems with certain games.

Users who currently have GeForce Experience installed can elect to receive Beta Updates automatically in the options section of the GeForce Experience software and the beta will download in September once it has been released.
