Nokia Lumia 1020 Camera Testing

The Nokia Lumia 1020 camera is a camera that you could use everyday. This could range from being in the store with your family shopping, or at the local race track. This is how I wanted to use the Lumia 1020 as that would be the most realistic and most common uses for a cell phone camera.

The two pictures above were taken moments apart from each other. Despite that you can see that there is a pretty distinct color difference between the two photos. Neither of the photos have been edited for anything but size. The bottom picture is much more accurate than the top picture when it comes to the colors of the room and dogs.

The local track was having their annual night of thrills so I brought the Nokia Lumia 1020 out for some low light pictures to see how it would handle them. This picture of my son turned out a little on the fuzzy side but not bad overall. There are a number of light sources that may have interfered with the camera and made it think that it’s brighter than it actually is.

The above two pictures are actually the same picture, once again both are unedited other than size. The top of the two images shows a much closer shot of the truck, while the bottom image is pulled back. The bottom image is the high resolution image. The Nokia Lumia 1020 seems to take two images each time. One at a lower resolution and cropped out the edges, and another at full resolution.

This happened every time that we took a photo at a distance. If it were a close up though, we would get the same image twice, though at different resolutions.

The car above is the Green Mamba Jet car. It isn’t the best photo of the day, but there are a number of objects in the way, but the Nokia Lumia 1020 camera did a good job focusing on what I wanted it to catch. Adding to the difficulty the Green Mamba was moving at the time this was taken.

Here you can see that the Green Mamba has fired up it’s jet engine, though you can’t see much else.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 didn’t capture images that were moving very fast. Here we can see a bus crashing into a motor home, but unfortunately it came out a little blurry since it was moving a little fast for the camera.
