Nintendo Switch Update Adds Video Capture
Nintendo has issued a large update for the Switch game console and the update brings some cool new features to the mix. One of the most notable features is support for video capture for select games. Once the video is captured gamers can then edit the clip and share it to social media if wanted. Video capture will make it easy to share gaming footage with others without having to resort to more complex means.
Nintendo also added in new profile icons with characters for Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild. If you are getting another Switch because you are tired of sharing yours or something is wrong with your console, there is now a method to transfer user profiles and save data to another Switch. That feature will keep you from having to start from scratch if your console ever breaks.
Gamers who frequently purchase games on the Nintendo eShop for the Switch will now see an option that will allow them to pre-order some eShop games. This update brings the Switch to version 4.0.0.
The support page for the patch notes that the video capture only works with Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, and Splatoon 2. However, there are some reports that the current version of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe doesn’t support video capture. The video can be trimmed right inside the Switch and a maximum of 30 seconds of video can be taken.
