Nintendo Switch 5.0.0 Update Now Available
Nintendo has announced that the Switch has been updated to version 5.0.0 and that the update is available right now. In most situations, the update will be downloaded automatically, but it can be done manually as well. The new software brings with it updates to social media.
Specifically, Facebook and Twitter friends that are on Switch can be added via Friend Suggestions. This is assuming you link your Twitter and Facebook accounts to the Switch. 24 new Kirby and ARMS icons are now available for your user. Digital purchases made via a PC or smart device will start downloading sooner, even if the Switch is in Sleep Mode.
News can now be filtered to view only unread or news from specific channels. Nintendo has changed the default method of Parental Controls PIN to the Control Stick and Buttons rather than the on-screen number pad. Captured videos in the Album are restricted by Parental Controls and the parental controls app can now add specific software to the whitelist to exclude them from parental controls restrictions.
Gamers will now receive notification when pre-purchased software is ready to play. Switch Controller grip colors are now displayed in the Controller menu. The update also resolves an issue where Play Activity displayed incorrectly in the Profile section of the User Page.
