Nintendo has Sold 20 Million Switch Consoles
Nintendo recently talked financials for the end of its fiscal first quarter and things are looking pretty darn good. The company has noted that it has sold 19.67 million Switch consoles as of June 30. With that being a month back odds are that Nintendo has hit that 20 million mark. Nintendo still has big plans for its current fiscal year.
The gaming giant plans to sell 20 million units in the current fiscal year that started April 2018 and ends in March of 2019. So far for the quarter, Nintendo has moved 1.88 million Switch consoles, which is a downturn from last year. The holiday season should be big for Nintendo and help make up for the downturn so far.
Nintendo has some anticipated titles coming for the holiday season like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the pair of Pokmon: Let’s Go games. Nintendo recorded operating profit of 30.5 billion yen or $275 million for the quarter.
That operating profit comes on revenue of 168 billion yen or $1.51 billion for the quarter. Nintendo also announced that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has become the second title to hit 10 million units sold. The first to hit that mark was Super Mario Odyssey reports The Verge.
