Nintendo has warned that its new 3DS player expected in late February should not be used by kids under 6 years old because it could permanently damage their eyesight. Nintendo has already posed warnings on their website against the use of the device in 3D mode by children younger than 6 citing “a potential impact on the growth of children’s eyes.”

“For children under the age of six, looking at 3-D images for a long time could possibly have a negative impact on the growth of their eyes,” Nintendo said on the website. It also warned that users should take breaks every 30 minutes when playing games in 3-D and stop playing immediately if they feel ill.
