nForce-5 for Intel to feature AMD technology
By
The Inquirer has discovered the upcoming silicon C19 + MCP04 nVidia chipset for Intel P4 motherboards, will be based on a two chip design. The chipset combo given the moniker nForce-5 will support SLI, DDR2, and of course include dual PCIe graphic capabilities. What is most interesting about the chipset combo will be the interconnection architecture between the C19 and MCP04. Communication between the two chips shall employ AMD’s HyperTransport “marchitecture.” The nForce-5 for Intel is slated for release in Q2 2005.
“An Intel chipset interconnected with AMD marchitecture – that’s the kind of cooperation that we would like to see more of in the industry.”
