New iPad Already Jailbroken
The Dev-Team blog has announced that the new iPad has already been jailbroken to allow it to run unauthorised apps ie apps that haven’t been approved by Apple. Not only that, but three different methods have been used, all successful. The first one was used four months ago on the iPad 2, but the method still works on iOS 5.1; second was done by @i0n1c is totally different (see video below); third by @phoenixdev, who is close to the Cydia repo scene once again with a totally different method.
Thats three different angles, and were not even including the continuous work @pod2g makes towards a new jailbreak! As always, keep in mind this is very preliminary progress, and its impossible to predict how or when these things turn out. The only thing you need to remember is the golden rule:
Dont update your new iPad3 past whatever iOS it comes shipped with
By the way, its rare but entirely possible that some of you may find your iPad3 comes with an iOS version thats not quite 5.1. If you do, be sure to let us know in the comments below!
