Netscape browser claims to sink phishers

The latest Netscape 8 browser, the first to claim protection against phishing scams, has been in beta since February. Its developers promise several advantages over rival browsers including Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Netscape 8 will include a blacklist of malicious websites that are used for phishing scams, and will warn surfers of the danger. If they choose to proceed, the software disables Java and refuses cookies to bolster the system’s defences.
