NETGEAR Announces $40 WiFi Booster For Mobile Devices
NETGEAR recently announced the WiFi Booster for Mobile (WN1000RP). This little device amplifies WiFi coverage for mobile devices in the home by extending and strengthening an existing WiFi signal, giving consumers the ability to enjoy an improved wireless experience on tablets, smartphones and e-readers. NETGEAR’s WiFi Booster for Mobile repeats a 2.4 GHz WiFi signal from existing routers and gateways to boost range and WiFi performance, so those with a dual band router looking for improved 5GHz performance are out of luck. This product is aimed at mainstream mobile devices and those aren’t dual band. The NETGEAR WiFi Booster for Mobile will be available at major retailers in summer 2012 starting at $39.99.
