Nest Secure alarm protects homes and needs no passcode

By

Nest has been around for a long time and is most known for its fancy thermostats. Nest has entered a new product category with a security system meant to secure your home against criminals. The security system is called Nest Secure and one of the coolest things about the Nest Secure is that you don’t have to type in passcodes to turn it off.

The alarm system can be armed or disarmed using the Nest app from anywhere or you can tap the Nest Tag on top of the Nest Secure device to turn it off. You can have a passcode as well if you want to. One of the big features of the Nest Secure is that you don’t have to enter a code to arm it and then rush out the door in 30 seconds to avoid setting the alarm off.

You can choose how much time you need to leave the house and a voice will count down how much time you have let. The app on your phone will also allow you to arm the security system once you leave if you want and it will remind you to arm the system if you forget. The motion sensors and alarm have a Dog Pass that allows small dogs to move around in the home without setting off alarms.

If you have a big dog I would assume they will set off the alarm. Each of the sensors in the system can sense motion and open or close. That allows them to monitor doors or windows and motion in one sensor. The sensors can also be pressed to allow you to open a door without disarming the entire system and has a light feature to light your way in the dark. Nest Secure also works in conjunction with Nest Cam IQ indoor and outdoor cameras. Nest Secure can be preordered now with two sensors and two tags for $499. Each additional Detect sensor is $59 an additional Nest Tags are $25. Bundle an outdoor camera for $99, shipping starts in November.
