MSI Big Bang XPower II Motherboard Review
SiSoftware Sandra 2012 Sp1 Memory Bandwidth Benchmark
The Sisoft Sandra 2011 SP5 benchmark utility just came out a few weeks
ago and we have started to include it in our benchmarking. Sandra 2011 comes with
support for Virtualisation (Virtual PC/Server, Hyper-V, VMware) and
GPGPU (OpenCL, DirectX 11 DirectCompute), but today we will be using the
program to look at memory and CPU performance!
Benchmark Results: Since we started testing the Intel X79 platform, the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme has been leading the way on the top of our charts. The MSI Big Bang XPower II was able to knock the ASUS R4E off of that pedestal, at least in SiSoftware Sandra SP1. The MSI Big Bang XPower II was able to hit a Float Memory Bandwidth of 40.986GB/s and an Integer Memory Bandwidth of 40.916Gb/s. It’s only a difference of .127GB/s or .3% on the Float Memory tests and .031Gb/s or .08% on the Integer Memory tests. These small differences won’t make a difference in the average day to day usage or performance, but it is a testament to the performance of the MSI Big Bang XPower II.
