Miracast Wireless Display on HDTVs Enhanced By NVIDIA’s Tegra
Miracast, the upcoming wireless HD display connectivity standard has been demonstrated by NVIDIA to show off its benefits such as convenience by eliminating HDMI cables and the ability to stream high definition video and audio to large HDTVs.
NVIDIA, a member of the Wi-Fi Alliance, is currently helping to ratify this upcoming open standard by working with their OEM partners and vendors, which allows any mobile device or display manufacturer to implement it in their products.
NVIDIA’s ARM-based Tegra products will implement Miracast, allowing tablet computers to perform such multimedia activities as sharing photos and streaming HD movies to HDTVs. Tegra products inside tablets also have the performance to play demanding first person shooter games such as Shadowgun THD on the HDTV and with a console controller added if desired.
