Microsoft Internet Explorer Security Exploit Fix Available Through Windows Update

A short while ago we reported on a serious vulnerability announcement (Secruity Advisory 2757760) in which Microsoft detailed a security exploit in Internet Explorer. Today a cumulative update is now available through Windows Update that will fix the vulnerability along with other issues as well. This of course comes after they released a “Fix it” on September 19th. So for those who may have switched to another browser short term, or didn’t know about the fix, should update their systems immediately, after which they can safely switch back to Internet Explorer should they wish to do so. The update, which is now available, fixes the publicly disclosed problem along with four more Critical-class remote code execution issues. It’s good to see Microsoft so on top of this potentially disastrous zero day exploit.
