Microsoft Confirms Xbox One Keyboard and Mouse Support “in Coming Weeks”
Microsoft has confirmed that keyboard and mouse support will be coming to select Xbox Insiders in the coming weeks. There is no timeframe other than “coming weeks” defined by the software giant. Microsoft says that any wired or wireless USB mouse and keyboard will work, but it is touting Razer and its line of gear as best in class.
That should mean that we will see new Razer mouse and keyboard accessories just for the Xbox One at some point. Support for mouse and keyboard will not come to every game and wont be enabled by default. It will be up to the developers to decide if they want to support mouse and keyboard gaming.
Microsoft also notes that it is taking steps to make it fair when it comes to pitting gamepad and mouse/keyboard gamers against each other. You can be that games will prevent mouse and keyboard players form playing against gamepad gamers.
The first game to get support for the mouse and keyboard will be Warhammer. Additional games will come in the future that support mouse and keyboard. Microsoft promised more details on the Razer partnership and mouse and keyboard support during the Inside Xbox presentation on November 10.
