MACS Monsoon II Lite Intel Active TEC CPU Cooling System
The Test System
We have recently re-tested the Corsair Nautilus 500 and the Thermaltake Big Typhoon VX coolers, so we will also including those numbers in the graphs to help show our readers what a competing air and water cooling solution can do.
Here is the Intel Test Platform:

To test out the Vigor Gaming Monsoon II TEC cooler we ran it on our Intel Core 2 Duo test platform which was then run at default and overclocked settings. All the temperatures were obtained by using Core Temp Beta 0.94 after sitting at idle for one hour and then again under full processor load for 30 minutes. We used three profiles to test the MACS Monsoon II Lite TEC Cooler at. The room temperature was kept a constant 20C (68F) for all benchmarking.
Profile 1: The Normal User (No Overclocking)
- CPU Multiplier: 7x
- CPU voltage: 1.2000V
- FSB Voltage: 1.20V
- FSB: 1066MHz
- Memory Voltage: 2.20V
- Final CPU Frequency: 1.86GHz
Profile 2: The Average Enthusiast (Mild Overclocking)
- CPU Multiplier: 7x
- CPU voltage: 1.4000V
- FSB Voltage: 1.30V
- FSB: 1600MHz
- Memory Voltage: 2.20V
- Final CPU Frequency: 2.80GHz
Profile 3: The Hardcore Overclocker (Major Overclocking)
- CPU Multiplier: 7x
- CPU voltage: 1.50625V
- FSB Voltage: 1.40V
- FSB: 1960MHz
- Memory Voltage: 2.20V
- Final CPU Frequency: 3.43GHz
The back of the PCI card has three LED lights on it. The bottom light is a green LED that let’s you know power is running to the card. The middle LED is the ‘oh shit’ light and only comes on if the TEC fails. The top LEF is the TEC light and it is on only when the TEC is active.
Enough talk about the MACS Monsoon II Lite, let’s take a look at the performance numbers!
