LulzSec Takes Down Any Website by Request

By

The hacking group LulzSec was giving out a phone number yesterday on their Twitter account for people to call in and request takedowns of Web sites. The area code for the LulzSec hotline is based in the metropolitan area of Columbus, Ohio, but its not likely that the group is even based there. LulzSec says that its hotline was lit up all day and that they accommodated 8 requests. LulzSec also claim they had 5,000 missed calls and 2,500 voicemails. The request line was part of the group’s event they held called Titanic Takeover Tuesday. LulzSec says it attacked several sites such as Escapist Magazine, Eve Online, and League of Legends. LulzSec has made no mention whether it will continue to respond to requests from its phone line.

“Call into 614-LulzSec and pick a target, and we’ll obliterate it,” LulzSec wrote on its Twitter account. “Nobody wants to mess with The Lulz Cannon–take aim for us Twitter.”
