Logitech Craft Keyboard Has a Big Aluminum Dial to Take Control of Apps
Yesterday Logitech rolled out the G613 mechanical gaming keyboard and the G603 gaming mouse. If you aren’t much for gaming, those two products might not have been that interesting to you. If you are a creative type that spends a lot of time in Photoshop or other creative programs you might be interested in the other keyboard Logitech unveiled. That other keyboard is called the Craft.
Craft is an “advanced keyboard with creative input dial” that is designed to give you immediate access to context-specific computing tools. That means that whatever app you are in or program you are using, that dial allows you to scroll through options and choose what you need rather than having to use the mouse to navigate to where those functions are located.
Logitech says that you can use the dial to control things like image brightness, contrast, and saturation in Adobe photoshop or to create and adjust charts in Excel among other things. Craft keyboard has smart illumination backlighting that is able to detect your hands and adjust lighting automatically depending on the room conditions. Keys are full-size in a standard layout.
Logitech promises each key is engineered for stability and precision. Craft will support Mac or Windows computers and it supports three paired devices at once and these devices can be switched between on the fly. The keyboard is wireless and uses either a Logitech Unifying USB connector or a Bluetooth Low energy for connectivity with paired devices. The Craft keyboard will launch in October and will sell for $199.99.
