LG Details Tech Improvements to Be Used In Next Gen Smartphone

LG Electronics has given details of the kind of improved technologies that will go into its next generation top-end smartphone, which has been made possible by leveraging the capabilities of its various sister companies.

Firstly, it will sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 ARM-based CPU; an 800 charge-discharge cycle battery (500 for regular phone batteries) featuring an efficiency improvement of 60%; True HD IPS+ which is sharper than the Pentile Super AMOLED display used in the Samsung Galaxy S3, due to its stripe RGB IPS+ panel. The display brightness can reach 470 nits brightness while using 70% less power and doesn’t suffer screen burn-in like AMOLED can.

Also, the G2 Touch Hybrid display eliminates the gap between the glass and the LCD panel as found in traditional touchscreens. As a result, the thickness of the panel was reduced by 30 percent and displays images that seem to “touch” the fingertip without the glass creating a barrier in between.

“Working closely with our affiliate companies allowed us a degree of control that very few smartphone makers have with their component partners,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Our next smartphone will be a game changer for us because we were able to incorporated all the best-of-best technologies from our sister companies with one single objective in mind - to give customers the best user experience that we were collectively capable of.”
