Leaked Slide Reveals AMD’s 2013 Roadmap: Third Gen APUs to be Built On 28nm Technology

We love product leaks don’t we? Well, we have a nice one here for you today giving us an idea of what we’re likely to see from AMD for 2013. (Bigger slide here.) The roadmap shows new Sea Islands cores for discrete graphics along with new HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) features. The recently released second generation Trinity APUs are built on a 32nm process, while the third gen “Kaveri” APUs will be 28nm and feature the Steamroller CPU cores along with new HSA and GSN (Graphics Core Next) features for the GPU.

Then we have details of their low power and ultra low power APUs, designed for portable devices. The low power Kabini APU will succeed Brazos 2.0, featuring Jaguar cores and new HSA features. The ultra low power Temash APU will succeed Hondo and by the looks of it, drops the HSA features to save power.

Now, given AMD’s current poor financial status and announced 15% job losses and the prevailing view that the company is slowly but surely imploding, it remains to be seen what actually materializes next year, other than the company going bust.
