Leak: NVIDIA GTX 680 Pictures

By

The release of NVIDIA’s GTX 680 graphics card based on the new Kepler GK104 core is just a few days away now, likely on March 22nd, as we reported earlier today. We can now bring you a couple of pictures of the card itself, courtesy of ChipHell via VideoCardz. It looks very similar to the GTX 580 that it replaces, with notable differences being a new, bolder logo, the slightly narrowing “waist” is now gone and the most important difference, the two 6-pin PCI-E power connectors. These however, are not mounted in the usual side by side configuration. Instead, they are stack one above the other, with one of them flush against the cooler and the other deeply recessed within it, which seems an odd way to go about it and it would be interesting to know the engineering reason behind this. The back of the card doesn’t look all that different to the outgoing GTX 580.

Update 3/14/2012 – NVIDIA asked us to remove the images from our site. We complied, but they can still be found on the site we sourced this news from.
