SiSoftware Sandra 2009 SP3

SiSoftware Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) is an information & diagnostic utility. Sandra provides most of the information (including undocumented) you need to know about your hardware, software and other devices whether hardware or software. In order to test the hard drive, SiSoftware Sandra 2009 SP3 was used as part of the test suite. The graphical results that Sandra gives you after the test is completed nicely shows how drives perform over time and where on the drive the performance is seen.

WRITE Performance Testing:

SiSoftware Sandra 2009 SP3 File Benchmark

Benchmark Results: The Kingston SSDNow V Series 128GB MLC SSD did decently in Sandra 2009 SP3 and was found to have an average read score of 114.535MB/s with a write score of 90.085MB/s. The read access times were just 1ms, but the write random access time averaged 97ms.

Sandra Benchmark Results

Comparison Chart: Just looking at the write access times you can tell that the Super Talent MasterDrive OC 64GB and the Kingston SSDNow V Series 128GB MLC SSD both use JMicron controllers. The big shocker in this benchmark is that the Kingston SSDNow V Series 128GB SSD had better write performance than the Kingston SSDNow M Series 80GB SSD. The Kingston SSDNow M Series 80GB drive has more than double the read speed, though, and much better random write access times. The price of Kingston SSDNow V series is that of an entry level SSD, so the performance goes along with the price tag fairly well.
