J&W MINIX 890GX-USB3 Mini-ITX AMD Motherboard
J&W Technology recently released the worlds first USB 3.0 & SATA 6Gbps mini-ITX form factor MINIX 890GX-USB3 motherboard. We missed this announcement during all the Computex 2010 released that started that day, but this board is worth a look even a few days late. The MINIX 890GX-USB3 motherboard supports the latest Super Speed USB 3.0 connection since it uses an NEC uPD720200 host controller that they managed to fit on the motherboards. J&W managed to keep enough room reserved for a PCIe x16 graphics cards slot as well, which is a must for many of our readers. The only thing the board is really lacking is integrated wireless!
Powered by AMDs latest and fastest 890GX IGP chipset, the ATI Radeon HD 4290 graphics allows the MINIX 890GX-USB3 motherboard to fully support Microsoft DirectX 10.1, UVD2, Full HD 1080p playback, dual-stream PiP on Blu-Ray, and multi video outputs. The graphics performance is further enhanced by the onboard 128MB high-speed DDR3 sideport memory. Based on socket AM3, MINIX 890GX-USB3 supports the AMD Phenom II series, Athlon II series and Sempron-100 series processors. More excitingly, the motherboard support the exclusive, Windows based Core-unlocking utility the Just Unlock Core (JUC) Technology which is capable to unlock the hidden core of the processors, a free and user-friendly CPU upgrade tool for users.
