iPhone 4 Sales Top 1.7 Million

By

Apple today announced that it has sold over 1.7 million of its iPhone 4 through Saturday, June 26, just three days after its launch on June 24. The new iPhone 4 features FaceTime, which makes video calling as easy as one tap, and Apples new Retina display, the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, resulting in stunning text, images and video. It is widely rumored that Apple charges AT&T and retailers close to $600 for the 16 GB version of the iPhone and almost $700 for the 32 GB model. That means that the Apple iPhone 4 generated somewhere between $1.02 billion and $1.19 billion in sales for Apple in just 3 days. If you do the consumer side of the math it is also rather crazy. If all 1.7 million customers bought the ‘cheap’ $199 phone after rebated that means AT&T just pocketed a cool $338,300,000. It they all bought the high-end $299 model that would make it $508,300,000!

This is the most successful product launch in Apples history, said Steve Jobs, Apples CEO. Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply.
