CINEBENCH is a real-world cross platform test suite that evaluates your computer’s performance capabilities. CINEBENCH is based on MAXON’s award-winning animation software CINEMA 4D, which is used extensively by studios and production houses worldwide for 3D content creation. MAXON software has been used in blockbuster movies such as Spider-Man, Star Wars, The Chronicles of Narnia and many more.

Intel’s Sandy Bridge CPUs do well in Cinebench 11.5 which is heavily threaded. Cinebench is capable of fully loading up to 64 threads so we see the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T near the top. The Intel Core i7 875K is just barely able to hold off the Core i5 2500K, showing just how much improvement there is in Sandy Bridge.

Our Core i7 2600K at 4.9GHz in the single thread benchmark is not far behind the Core i5 661 in multi-threaded performance! The gain from overclocking in multi-threaded performance is just shy of 29%!
