The Intel Core i7-970 3.2GHz LGA 1366 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor was released yesterday and it can be yours for $899.99 shipped! The processor still costs a small fortune, but it is $100 less than the Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition that runs at 3.33GHz. You save $100 and get a ‘locked’ processor that operates at 3.20GHz. The processor is not on the Intel ARK yet, but it is available for purchase in the channel under model number BX80613I7970.
